BOBBERTHON FAQs
- What types of fish are being tagged for Bobberthon? Bream (bluegill, shellcracker/redear sunfish, redbreast sunfish, etc.). Bream is a term that includes all sunfish species except crappie.
- Should I receive a “receipt” for turning in a tag? Yes. You should keep the “yellow copy” of your registration form/return tag form. This receipt has a unique identifying number on it and you should plan on keeping it with you through the end of the tournament in order to ensure that you are able to claim any prizes.
- Do I increase my chances of winning a prize by catching more tagged fish? Yes, you are guaranteed a prize for every tag you turn in. The more tags you return, the more prizes you win. Please note: to claim prizes you must attend (or send a designee) to the Grand Bobberthon Tournament.
- Do I need to re-register every time I return a tag? No. Each registered person will be entered into a database and should only register once. However, if you catch more than one tagged fish, you do need to report each tag.
- May I register at more than one location? Not needed – register once.
- Do I have to reside in one of the 5 sponsoring counties in order to participate? No! Anyone can come register and fish.
