Event Details
TAGGED FISH: Before Bobberthon begins, 200 bream will be tagged (with purple tags) and released in each of four 100-acre public fishing area lakes. This year that series of lakes is Dodge County PFA (Eastman), Ocmulgee PFA (between Hawkinsville and Cochran), Hugh Gillis PFA (Dublin) and Flat Creek PFA (Perry). See tag example photo to the right.
REGISTRATION: Interested anglers must register at any participating official merchant. Visit the merchant, fill out a registration form – one part stays with the merchant, the other is to be kept by the angler. Note: registration forms will also be available at all participating PFAs, however, they still must be given to an official merchant to be eligible. Once you catch a tagged fish, visit that (or any other) official merchant to register the tag number. Anglers may register more than one tagged fish.
TIME FRAME: Anglers can fish for and register tagged fish April 16 - June 11, 2011. Any tagged fish caught before April 16, 2011 or after midnight June 11, 2011 is not eligible.
PRIZES: Every registered angler catching and reporting a tagged fish can win a prize and also is eligible to participate in the Grand Bobberthon Tournament to be held at Flat Creek PFA on June 25, 2011. All anglers eligible to win a prize MUST be present (or send a designee) at the Grand Bobberthon Tournament to claim their prize. Angler teams that successfully reel in one of the top 5 heaviest stringers in the Grand Tournament are eligible for one of five grand prizes.
